Welcome, Greeting and Peace Pipe ceremony are a blended dance. The traditional way of greeting and welcoming visiting Chiefs and their tribal members was done in a ceremony. This was received as a sign of respect. They would greet each other accordingly and share the pipe of peace to maintain a good relationship or to resolve their differences if there was a problem between the two tribes. After the welcome, greeting and smoking of the pipe, all would dance and feast until their return to their own tribal territory.
